Three Nigerian students who emerged as global winners at the 2025 TeenEagle finals have been awarded full educational scholarships by the Atiku Abubakar Foundation (AAF), in a move hailed as a major boost for female education and youth empowerment.
The beneficiaries—Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Mohammed Fema, and Khadija Kashim Kalli—were recognised for their exceptional academic performance at the international competition. In response to their achievement, the Foundation has pledged to sponsor their education from the remainder of secondary school through to university.
In a letter addressed to the students, the AAF confirmed that the scholarship would cover all educational expenses up to university graduation, regardless of the institutions they choose.
Founded by Nigeria’s former Vice President, the Atiku Abubakar Foundation has consistently prioritised education, with a strong focus on expanding access for girls and underserved communities.
“This is more than just a reward for academic achievement,” the Foundation stated. “It is a reaffirmation of our belief in the transformative power of education, and a commitment to supporting young Nigerians—especially girls—who are working hard to realise their dreams.”
The scholarship is part of the Foundation’s wider efforts to address educational inequality across the country. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has long advocated for girl-child education, describing it as a catalyst for national development.
“When you invest in the education of a girl child, you are invariably investing in the education of a prospective family and community,” Atiku said, reiterating his dedication to the cause.
The TeenEagle Global Finals is a prestigious academic competition that brings together students from around the world to engage in knowledge-based challenges. Nigeria’s victory at the event was widely celebrated as a proud national accomplishment.
With the backing of the Atiku Abubakar Foundation, the three girls are now set to continue their academic journeys without financial hindrance, further inspiring young Nigerians across the country
