This annual competition is designed to help young learners enhance their spelling and English language skills while standing a chance to win prizes worth over ₦40 million, including scholarships, gadgets, and exclusive opportunities.

Competition Details
The MTN mPulse Spelling Bee is organized annually by MTN Nigeria to encourage academic excellence in English language and spelling among students aged 9 to 15 years.
The competition is structured in multiple rounds, starting with an online test and progressing through further qualifying stages to a physical grand finale.
- Stage 1: Conducted online via the MTN mPulse website and open to all eligible students
- Stage 2: The top 1,000 students from Stage 1 will receive email invites to participate in the second round, also hosted on the mPulse platform
- Stage 3 (Grand Finale): The top 20 students with the highest scores in Stage 2 will be invited to the physical grand finale
Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition 2025, applicants must:
- Be a primary or secondary school student in Nigeria
- Be between the ages of 9 and 15
- Be a resident in Nigeria
- Register as a student on the MTN mPulse platform
- Take the practice test quiz as many times as desired
- Note that parents are not allowed to participate on behalf of students
Competition Rewards
MTN will offer generous prizes to the top-performing students, as well as their schools and teachers/mentors.
1st Prize
- Student: ₦5 million scholarship grant, 1 laptop, 1 smartphone, crowned MTN CEO for a Day, mPulse Face of the Year, and an mPulse goody bag
- School: Full ICT Lab (10 Laptops) and 10 MTN Hynetflex Routers
- Teacher: ₦500,000 cash reward
2nd Prize
- Student: ₦2.5 million scholarship grant, 1 laptop, 1 smartphone, and an mPulse goody bag
- Teacher: ₦300,000 cash reward
3rd Prize
- Student: ₦1.5 million scholarship grant, 1 laptop, 1 smartphone, and an mPulse goody bag
- Teacher: ₦200,000 cash reward
4th – 10th Finalists
- ₦500,000 cash prize each and mPulse goody bag
11th – 20th Finalists
- ₦200,000 cash prize each and mPulse goody bag
