  • Hold an unconditional offer of admission for full-time study in one of the following programs at the Sydney Law School:
    • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
    • Master of Laws (LLM) by Research
    • Master of Criminology (MCrim) by Research
  • Be prepared to carry out legal research at the Sydney Law School
  • Possess one of the following academic qualifications in law:
    • A first-class or second-class upper honours degree or equivalent
    • A master’s degree by research
    • A master’s degree by coursework with a High Distinction or Distinction and a research component equivalent to 25% of a full academic year
    • A law degree supported by relevant research or professional experience considered equivalent to a first-class honours degree

Note: Preference is given to newly commencing students, but the scholarship may also be awarded to current full-time students (PhD, LLM by Research, or MCrim by Research) who can demonstrate strong academic progress and outstanding research outcomes.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

  • A $50,000 AUD stipend
  • Funding provided for a duration of up to three and a half years
