Eligibility Criteria

- Have completed at least 16 years of formal education in their home country

- Apply within two years of obtaining a bachelor’s degree
- Rank academically within the top 10% of students at a university also ranked in the top 10% in their country
- Be able to provide a letter of recommendation from the president of the university where their academic achievements were attained
- Be enrolled in a master’s program and intend to continue into a doctoral program at the TCU Graduate School
- Not be a recipient of any other scholarships
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Tokyo City University Scholarship will receive:
- A scholarship valued at ¥1,000,000 per year (payable after arrival in Japan)
- Full exemption from entrance and tuition fees (note: an application fee is still required)
- Comprehensive financial coverage for both the initial and monthly rental costs of accommodation in a TCU-designated dormitory
