The Kaduna State Data Science Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring data scientists to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience by working on impactful projects.
This initiative is part of the Kaduna State Data Lab Project, jointly implemented by the Kaduna State Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation. The program empowers participants to contribute to evidence-based decision-making and public policy development, especially within the health sector.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Kaduna State Data Science Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35 (exceptions may apply in special cases)
- Reside in Kaduna State
- Hold a degree in STEM fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physical Sciences, or Health-related disciplines
- Be undergraduate STEM students undergoing their 6-month to 1-year industrial training (optional but encouraged)
- Possess basic computer literacy and understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrate problem-solving and effective communication skills (written and verbal English)
- Be part of a gender-balanced selection process (50% gender distribution will be considered)
