For the second consecutive year, the Grooming Endowment Trust (GET) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the education sector through its Teachers Appreciation Program (GETAP). As part of the 2025 edition, twelve outstanding teachers from across Nigeria have each been awarded a grant of N200,000, bringing the total disbursement to N2.4 million.
Following a nationwide call for applications, a rigorous review and interview process was conducted by a panel of qualified professionals to select the recipients. The program is designed to recognize the dedication and impact of teachers working in underserved communities and to ease both personal and professional challenges through financial support.
“Teachers are the backbone of our society, especially those who work tirelessly with limited resources,” said Chikezie Ugwu, Operations Lead at GET. “This initiative is our way of saying ‘thank you’ and ensuring they know their efforts do not go unnoticed.”
The 2025 award recipients include teachers from Lagos, Bayelsa, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, Ebonyi, Benue, Kaduna, and Edo States. They expressed heartfelt gratitude and shared how the funds would be used to improve classroom learning through the purchase of supplies, teaching aids, and professional development opportunities.
The Teachers Appreciation Program is part of GET’s broader mission to promote educational equity and support those on the frontlines of learning. Since its establishment in 2020, Grooming Endowment Trust has impacted millions of lives across Nigeria through grant programs that support sustainable development initiatives in education, health, enterprise, and community development.
