The RMI Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship 2025 is now accepting applications from early to mid-career women professionals in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Zambia.
This fully funded program, launched by RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA), aims to enhance technical, leadership, and strategic capacities in clean energy. The inaugural cohort, delivered in partnership with local and global actors including AMP, will commence in June 2025.

Scholarship Details
The RMI Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship is designed to support women leaders in the Global South by providing:
- Technical training on distributed energy resources and local business models
- Project management skills, including risk mitigation, procurement, and finance
- Group mentorship with women energy leaders from various sectors
- Peer networking with other passionate women across the region
- A capstone project to develop a clean energy policy, initiative, or strategy in their country
Additionally, select fellows will be invited to a 3-day in-person leadership workshop in November 2025. This advanced training will focus on hands-on leadership skills for women leading clean energy projects or shaping policy. A separate selection process will occur during the fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the RMI Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be early to mid-career women professionals
- Currently work on clean energy projects or policies in Nigeria, Ethiopia, or Zambia
- Demonstrate passion for leadership, innovation, and social impact in the energy sector
- Desire to expand their network and drive meaningful change in their communities
