The Karim Adeyemi Foundation (KAF) has secured key support from the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, as it prepares to launch its “Safe Schools Initiative: First Aid for All.”

The initiative will distribute 50 fully stocked first aid boxes to public primary schools across six local government areas—Egbeda, Akinyẹle, Lagelu, Ido, Oluyole, and Ona Ara. In partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch, the project will also offer critical CPR and emergency response training for school staff and pupils.

Dr. Adeniran, a vocal advocate for youth development and a major figure in grassroots football, praised KAF for its commitment to education and community wellbeing. He acknowledged the foundation’s efforts—especially through Adeyemi Football Club—as vital contributions to Ibadan’s youth and sports ecosystem.

He also expressed interest in exploring a long-term collaboration between SUBEB and the foundation, with a focus on enhancing school safety and promoting sports development in public primary schools. The SUBEB chairman not only endorsed the initiative but also provided a venue for the upcoming training session.

The meeting saw the presence of top education stakeholders, including Princess Ladipo Olaide Aderonke (Executive Secretary to the SUBEB Chairman), Mrs. Funmi Kehinde Adeyomoye (Director of School Services), and Oluwaseun Ologunde (Principal Education Officer), alongside KAF representatives.

The foundation’s delegation also met with Nigerian Red Cross Society officials—Mr. Ojo Olaleye, Mr. Jolaosho Samuel, and Mr. Akinyemi Makinde—for a final review of the project. The Red Cross team inspected the first aid kits and affirmed their readiness to support the training sessions.

The first donation and training event is set for Thursday, May 22, 2025, during which selected schools from the six local government areas will receive the first aid kits and undergo emergency preparedness training.

This initiative further underlines KAF’s ongoing commitment to creating safer and healthier learning environments across Oyo State.
