Scholarship Details
The A-STAR Graduate Scholarship (AGS) provides funding for up to four years of PhD or EngD studies at any of Singapore’s autonomous universities.
As an AGS scholar, you will:
- Participate in industry-oriented and user-inspired R&D projects
- Be eligible for an overseas attachment of up to 12 months during your course
- Apply for the A*STAR International Fellowship (AIF) after graduation to pursue postdoctoral research abroad, strengthening your research capacity and global exposure
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the A-STAR Graduate Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be Singaporeans or international students
- Non-Singaporeans must have completed or be completing a degree in a Singapore autonomous university
- Meet the admission requirements for a PhD or EngD programme in a Singapore autonomous university
- Have obtained or be on track to obtain at least a Second Upper-Class Honours (2:1) or its equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Final-year undergraduate students are welcome to apply (award conditional on final results)
- Demonstrate a strong interest in a research career
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the AGS 2025 will receive:
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly sustenance allowance, inclusive of CPF contribution (where applicable)
- Additional allowances including:
- Book allowance
- Computer allowance
- Conference allowance
- Thesis allowance
- Support for up to 12 months of overseas attachment during your studies
