Lagos Police Arrest Eight Over Cult Killings Around YABATECH

Tactical operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended eight individuals allegedly linked to a series of cult-related killings in and around Yaba College of Technology.

The arrests were made during an intelligence-driven operation carried out on April 29, 2025, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

The suspects were identified as Adeyemo Abdulsamad (alias Cloud), Afeez Enitan, Ayomide Daniel, Olamilekan Adeagbo (alias Skinny), Mayor Samson, Basit Ishola, Quadri Sikiru, and Mariam Salihu.

During the operation, police recovered a Beretta pistol, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses from the suspects.

The police noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the suspects’ involvement in cult-related violence.

“The public can rest assured that the suspects will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the statement read.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the swift action of the Command’s tactical units and the Eko Strike Force. He urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to security agencies to help maintain safety and order in the state.
